CLAMP-ON FLOWMETERS FOR OIL AND GAS EXTRACTION.

Pipes carrying oil or liquefied gas are under high pressure. Retrofitting a flow meter to them can therefore be rather challenging. This is made even more difficult by the toxic and hazardous conditions found inside the pipe. The extreme atmospheric conditions (risk of explosion) on offshore platforms or in desserts impose the highest (Ex) demands on the measuring instruments used in this industry.

Ultrasonic flowmeters offer a solution for temporary measurements and permanent installations in potentially explosive environments according to the requirements of the oil and gas industry. The transmitter housing as well as the clamp-on sensors are ATEX certified (zones 1 and 2).

(The latter is particularly important as a guarantee of compliance of the offshore drilling facilities with OPPC (Oil Pollution Prevention and Control) regulations).

The ultrasonic flowsensors are made of stainless steel, with IP 68 classification as a standard. The robust design makes the sensors ideal for use in offshore environments and areas where aggressive chemicals may be present.

The clamp-on sensors are installed on the outside of the high pressure pipe. Therefore there is no pressure loss, no risk of leakage / contamination and no interruption of the flow process.

Our flowmeters are simple to install. In an environment where access to specialist personnel could require helicopter flights, or very long and expensive journeys, having an instrument which is simple to install and commission is a considerable advantage. Anyone with basic technical training should be able to operate an ultrasonic flowmeter. Also you can count on our remote assistance, to ensure the whole process is as straightforward and inexpensive as possible.
